Chocolate Cake

A rich, moist chocolate cake that’s easy to bake and perfect for any celebration or sweet craving.

Ingredients:

1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
2 eggs
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup hot water

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a round cake tin. In a large mixing bowl, sift together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl, whisk the eggs, then add the oil, milk, and vanilla extract, mixing well. Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until smooth. Carefully mix in the hot water—the batter will be thin, but that’s normal. Pour the batter into the prepared cake tin and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let it cool completely before removing from the tin. Optionally, frost with your favorite chocolate icing.
